How do I change my name?

If you have recently been married or entered a civil partnership and would like to change your name then we need to see an original (or certified copy) of your marriage certificate or civil partnership certificate.

If you would like to change your name for any other reason we will need to see an original (or certified copy) of your Deed of Change of Name (Deed Poll). A written statement of change of name from a professional body, solicitor etc. is also acceptable ( we can accept a decree nisi as proof of change back to maiden name, if accompanied by a birth certificate or original marriage certificate confirming the new name).
