This service provides you with a quick and provisional online lending decision called an 'Approval In Principle'. After this you will be able to complete a full application online.
Leeds Building Society only offers its own mortgages and we do not charge a fee for this service.
Other fees and charges may be applicable depending on the mortgage product chosen,
please see the Illustration and Illustration Offer documents for further details of these fees and when they may be refundable.
If you apply for a mortgage online you will not receive advice from us.
You will need to make your own choice about which mortgage is appropriate for you and Leeds Building Society will not assess the suitability of that mortgage.
Therefore, you will not benefit from the protections of an advised service where Leeds Building Society provides advice and assesses the suitability of your mortgage choices.
This is called an execution only transaction.
We can only process an online mortgage application if you are able to provide us with the following information;
the rate of interest you want
the interest rate type you want (e.g. a fixed rate)
the price or value of the property (estimated where necessary)
the length of the term you want
the sum you wish to borrow
the repayment method you want (e.g. Capital & Interest)
You will be able to provide us with this information as you progress through the application screens.
We will also ask you to sign an 'execution only acknowledgement statement' as part of your application.
If you wish to receive advice from us and would like us to assess the suitability of our mortgages to your needs and circumstances
please call into one of our branches or telephone us on 03450 50 50 62 (Calls cost 2p per minute plus your phone company's access charge)
Please note: We do not provide an advised service for buy-to-let mortgages which are for business purposes.
We will only offer interest only mortgages in limited circumstances.
You will need to have a clearly understood and credible repayment strategy in place to pay off the capital and (if applicable) any accrued interest at the end of the mortgage term.
You will need to review this repayment strategy during the life of the mortgage to ensure that it is still reasonable to expect it to pay off the capital and (if applicable) any accrued interest at the end of the mortgage term.
Leeds Building Society doesn't accept mortgage applications where the purpose of the additional borrowing is to consolidate debt unless received via a mortgage broker. If you wish to raise additional funds in order to consolidate debt please speak to a mortgage broker and/or seek independent financial advice to discuss your requirements.
If your application is for a Right to Buy mortgage then we will need to advise you about your application. Please call us on 03450 50 50 62. Alternatively you can carry out Right to Buy mortgage applications through a mortgage broker.
If at any point during your application you decide that you need advice about your mortgage choices,
email us on firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 03450 50 50 62 (Calls cost 2p per minute plus your phone company's access charge).
Please be aware that we'll need to restart your application over the telephone and you will no longer be able to continue your application online.
If you just have a question (e.g. relating to the website) or require further information about your application (e.g. an update on progress),
email us on email@example.com or call us on 03450 50 50 61 (Calls cost 2p per minute plus your phone company's access charge).
Please note: should this discussion lead to a need for advice, you will no longer be able to continue with your online application and we will process your application over the telephone.
As part of your application we provide you with an Approval in Principal.
As part of this assessment we will check your details against our lending criteria and search your record at credit reference agencies. We reserve the right to repeat this search should we deem it necessary. The agencies
will record this search whether or not your application proceeds. Information which is provided to us and/or the credit reference agencies about you and those with whom you are linked financially, may be used by us and
other companies if credit decisions are made about you, or other members of your household.
We strongly recommend that you consider your choices by obtaining an Illustration before applying using the link www.leedsbuildingsociety.co.uk/public/illustration.
You have the right to request an Illustration for any Leeds Building Society mortgage product that you are eligible for.
You must also read the Initial Disclosure Document which provides more information about our mortgage services.
You cannot proceed with your application until you have read this.
Please confirm that you have read the initial disclosure document and that you accept and acknowledge the information set out above and that you have decided to proceed with a mortgage transaction without advice from
Leeds Building Society and therefore will not benefit from the protections where Leeds Building Society provides advice and assesses the suitability of our mortgage products that are available to you.
